One person builds Syllabee and the same person answers this inbox. Write in English or in French, whichever you'd rather.
Don't wait for a reply. Open your official course outline or your school's learning management system and work from that. Syllabee is a planner; your outline and your instructor are the authority. Then send us the problem so it gets fixed for the next student.
Fix it directly on the review screen before you confirm, or tap the item on the course page afterwards and edit it. Your edit is permanent and survives future updates.
Then tell us. Missed and misread items are the single most useful thing you can send. They become test cases, and the outline you send makes the next student's extraction better. See how to report a problem.
That's deliberate. When an outline doesn't state a date, Syllabee leaves it unknown instead of inventing one. The item stays visible so you don't forget it exists, and the app will nudge you about it as the term goes on.
Once you learn the real date, tap the item and set it. If you're in a shared class, you can propose the date to your classmates. When a second person confirms it, the class sees it as settled.
Paste the announcement into the app, whether that's the email, the LMS post, or whatever you got. Syllabee finds what changed, shows you the specific line it's working from, and asks you to approve each change before anything moves. It won't silently rewrite your schedule.
If you were sent a revised outline instead, upload it to the same course. You'll get a list of what was added, changed, and removed rather than a duplicate course.
PDF, Word documents, and photos of a printed outline all work. Things that commonly go wrong: a scanned page too blurry to read, a file that's password-protected, or a link to a page in your LMS rather than the document itself. Download the document first.
If it keeps failing on a file you can read fine yourself, send it to us.
Check that calendar sync is switched on in Settings, and that Syllabee has calendar permission in your phone's own Settings under Privacy. Syllabee writes into its own calendar named "Syllabee", so make sure that calendar is ticked as visible in the Calendar app.
Sync runs one way, from Syllabee into your calendar. Editing an event in the Calendar app won't change it in Syllabee, and the next sync will put it back.
Usually this is a one-time export file imported alongside live sync. Delete the imported calendar and keep the "Syllabee" one. If duplicates appear inside the Syllabee calendar itself, that's a bug. Tell us, and mention whether you'd re-uploaded the outline beforehand.
Reminders are scheduled on your device, so this is nearly always a permission or Focus setting. Check notifications are allowed for Syllabee in your phone's Settings, then check whether a Focus mode is filtering them.
On Android, exact-time alarms need their own permission. The app will prompt for it if it's missing.
Apple Calendar refreshes a subscribed calendar every few hours. Google Calendar can take up to a day. Neither is under our control, and neither is instant. For immediate updates, use the in-app calendar sync instead.
Also worth checking: a change you made offline isn't in the feed until your phone has synced. The app shows when it last synced.
Open Settings → Live calendar feed and replace the link. The old one stops working immediately. Anyone who had it could see that calendar's dates and titles, never your grades.
Codes look like SYL- followed by six characters. They never contain the letters O or I, or the numbers 0 and 1, so a code that seems to have one has been mistyped or mangled by autocorrect. Case doesn't matter, and the app strips spaces and dashes for you.
A code also stops working if the person who created it revoked it.
You're seeing the schedule exactly as the person who shared it confirmed it. If they never picked a section, every section's classes are in there and there's no reliable way to tell them apart. The app says so plainly when that's the case. Delete the ones that aren't yours; your copy is yours to edit.
The student who created it deleted their Syllabee account. The class stays exactly as they last published it, and it keeps working. It just won't receive updates any more. Your own edits are unaffected. If you want to take over, share your own copy and send the new code round.
The free tier counts every course you hold in your current term, whether you uploaded it or joined it. Two is the limit. Nothing you already have is ever deleted. See the next section.
Nothing was deleted. Beyond the two courses you keep on the free tier, the rest became read-only archives. You can still open and read them, but they stop sending reminders and can't be edited. Subscribing brings all of them back exactly as they were.
You choose which courses stay active. If you picked wrong, change it in Settings.
Tap Restore purchases on the paywall. If that doesn't do it, confirm the purchase went through on the same Apple ID currently signed in on the device, then check Settings → your name → Subscriptions.
Still stuck? Email us with the date of purchase and the Apple receipt, and we'll sort it manually.
The annual and monthly plans renew until you cancel: iPhone Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Syllabee → Cancel. Access continues to the end of the period you've already paid for.
The semester pass doesn't renew, so there's nothing to cancel. It runs for 120 days and stops.
Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription. Refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. Tell us as well if something went wrong on our end.
Add an email address to your account before you switch, under Settings → Account. Without one, your semester lives only on the old phone. With one, sign in on the new device with the six-digit code and choose Restore.
Purchases restore separately through Apple, with the Restore purchases button.
Check spam first. Codes are short-lived, so if a few minutes have passed, request a fresh one rather than using an old email. If nothing arrives at all, write to us from that address and we'll look.
Settings → Account → Delete account, then confirm twice. It runs immediately and removes your server data: schedule, uploaded files, usage counts, push tokens, class memberships, and calendar feed links.
The copy on your own phone is deliberately left alone so your semester keeps working. Delete the app to remove that too. Full detail in the privacy policy.
Useful reports include:
For extraction problems, attaching the outline itself is by far the most useful thing. It lets us reproduce the exact failure and add it to the tests. It's optional. If you'd rather not, a description of the section that went wrong is still worth sending. Attached outlines are used only to fix the bug and are deleted afterwards unless you tell us we can keep them as a test case.
Please don't send grades, student numbers, or anything else we don't need.
Syllabee est offert en français et vous pouvez nous écrire en français. La réponse vous parviendra dans la même langue. Changez la langue dans les réglages de l'application.
Syllabee supports Dynamic Type, VoiceOver, and reduced motion, and never uses colour alone to carry meaning. If something is hard to use with assistive technology, tell us what you were trying to do. Those reports get priority.
If you've found a vulnerability, write to support@syllabee.co with "security" in the subject line before disclosing it publicly. We'll acknowledge within two business days and keep you posted on the fix.
